Well, Good News All Around!

 

You know the feeling when you get a call with great news? Well that just happened and some clouds parted to let the sun come through… 

That call was this is completely unrelated to the next news, but I can’t say what it was about other then it was a good call!

Also Soupy is doing better post surgery; and thanks goodness he made it through his surgery too! At his age there was a worry that he might of not woken up from surgery or a unknown block clot could of moved… I don’t know how I would of handled loosing him back to back with Nitche…. On a happier note his anesthesia wore off late last night so his personality is slowly coming back! He started eating again today, he even started to doing his “sit and shake” trick that he learned over quarantine for his treats! Yes he is a cat that knows tricks, he is part dog I think!?!? 2020 was really long and training a cat seemed to be a good use of time… 

But he has to continue to wear the onesie for at least the next two weeks till the stitches are out… and if he starts to pick at the onesie then he as to wear a cone. Ooooooh but luckily I found buried WAY deep in the back of my moms laundry room some old baby/toddler clothes hangers for Soupy’s clothes so I can hang them up after I do his laundry! It so cute to see them hanging up to dry on the line! 

Can anyone relate to the most randomly things like seeing a cloths line of onesies that flairs up your baby fever? I swear it happens more frequently the older I’m getting! 

Back to Soupy; he was slated to go back to the vets on Saturday to have the drainage tube removed but since it is still draining they thought it would be to delayed it till Monday morning… on the 29th he has to go and have all the stitches taken out too! Oh but don’t tell him this since he doesn’t know about have to go on two more car trips!

Well I’m Always Busy…

Life for sure can through a lot at you! Since last I spoke here’s 10 new thing:

1. I’m still work on my porch…
2. I’ve buried a pet; my sweet little Niche (she was really young and it was very unexpected) …
3. Had  a brick thrown though one of my windows from a neighbors roof job (I’m so glad my stained glass side door was still boarded up from my porch job!)… 
4. Had to close for a week due to how the film industry is due to the pandemic…
5. Helped deal with my grandma in and out hospital stays, and now nursing home recovery (long story)…
6. I redecorated my Drawing Room (I finally brought out the crystals)…
7. I started to build my master bathroom vanity out of old oak I had laying around…
8. I brought out some of my fall home decor…
9. I switched my window displays from summer to fall…
10. And I’ve been staring to cut down my gardens in preparation of winter…

I’ve learned a long time ago to take one day at a time and to not let stress control me. In the next couple of weeks it looks like I have a couple more weeks I might have to close… oh and Soupy has to go and have a tumor removed (he is our 14 year old male cat we’ve had since he was a couple weeks old); sooooo till we’ll talk again later…

End of a Long Week, New Finds, and Stunning Tile!

For the past two days I’ve been starting to install the wall tile for my master bathroom! I am beyond thrilled with how it is turning out. It is absolutely gorgeous against the baseboard paint color; now don’t worry the shoe will be painted in and that raw wood is just a spacer and there is another layer of molding to still go on... If you are unaware let me tell you that in authentic victorian design the baseboard were almost always very tall, so that being said the salvaged trim I was able to tear out of another house for this project will be nine inches tall when reassembled! That will be in due time though...

When I was working with the tile yesterday though I kept hearing these loud bangs coming from outside. So of course my curiosity got to me so I got up and needed to figure out what was going on! What the loud bangs were was my neighbor throwing projectile objects outside onto his backyard from the attic! So of course I immediately spotted the hand painted solid wood antique rocking horse! WOW!!!

Now it was broken before the two story drop, but I wouldn’t lay and say it didn’t break more.... but anything is fixable! It will probably only take me a couple of hours to restore it, but I anticipate me someday using it in one of my Christmas window displays at the theatre!?!? TBD

And on a different note my grandmother came home yesterday from the hospital after a four days stay! She was taken by ambulance to the hospital earlier in this week. She had been bleeding for about a day and a half at home before making anyone aware. While she was in the hospital they gave her two units of blood, and the best they could diagnose her was with the knowledge she has a GI bleed somewhere. She is 87 and has decided to opted out of having any scopes done to determine anything more precise... it is definitely her decision not to want to know, but all I can say is we don’t know...
